Reptile Supplies - Substrates

NOTE - not all reptile substrates are suitable for all herps, choose appropriate bedding materials for the safety and comfort of your pets.
Please also note that certain substrates can be dangerous to your pet by posing an impaction (ie: bark or corncob) or toxicity (ie: pine chips) risk. The following options are carefully chosen as safe substrates.

If you'd like to use sand in your reptile enclosure, the safest choice is to use washed playsand, the kind you would use for a childs' sandbox. As an alternative, wheat bran is also a popular and safe choice.
